Dear Valued Supporter,
This year will mark 34 years of celebrating rice during the third week of September in Bolivar County. The purpose has always been to make the public aware of the versatility of rice and to show appreciation to those who are in the rice industry.
The tradition will continue, but in a different way. There will be a Rice Festival in the streets of Downtown Merigold on Thursday, September 19 from 4–9 p.m. There will be rice dishes from local restaurants for tasting along with vendors, exhibitors, music, and children’s activities. To top off the festival, a Delta Rice Queen and Ambassador will be announced.
As you can see, your support is greatly needed to make this new way of celebrating a success. No tickets are needed this year. The event is open to the public. Delta Rice Promotions hopes that you will mark this date on your calendar and join us in celebrating 34 years of promoting Mississippi Rice.
